Rally Directions and Parking Information:
We are looking forward to the attendance of our colleagues from around Southern California! We hope the following information makes your travel to and from campus as smooth as possible!
The Rally will begin promptly at 1130 am on Wednesday, April 22. Please congregate on the west side of Westwood Blvd, just north of the intersection with Le Conte. You can find a detailed image of the rally location here: http://www.uclahealth.org/body.cfm?id=289&oTopID=42. Note that we will be congregating in the area along Westwood which is near to the building labeled 300 Medical Plaza in this image.
Importantly, the gathering for the animal rights group is on the EAST corner of Westwood and Le Conte (near the building labeled Doris Stein in the above image). Please avoid crossing paths with them and (most certainly) don't accidentally end up on their corner instead of ours!
Directions to campus can be found here: http://www.ucla.edu/map/. Please utilize public transportation and/or car pool wherever possible. Parking in Westwood Village is extremely limited, and can be expensive. For those interested, the following link contains details on parking in the village: http://www.lafilmfest.com/pdfs/08LAFFParking_Card.pdf.
On campus parking will be available in Lot 8. Please enter campus at Westwood and Le Conte, and travel north past the Reagan Hospital (at the intersection with Charles Young Drive. Just past the intersection, there are parking booths in the middle of the street (between northbound and southbound lanes - i.e., they will be on your left). You can pay ($9) for a permit there, and the attendants will direct you to the lot. Once you are parked, please walk back down Westwood Blvd to the rally site.
Rally stewards will help you to identify appropriate locations to stand prior to the onset of the rally. Please avoid standing in the street or blocking any driving areas that patients coming and going from the Medical Plaza need in order to travel to and from their appointments.
